The Society of Rehabilitation and Crime Prevention (hereinafter referred to as "the Society") makes every effort to comply with and implement the provisions of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance to ensure that the personal privacy and personal data stored are fully protected, accurate, and properly secured. To ensure that you fully understand the criteria for providing personal data to the Society, please read this policy carefully. 


Purpose of Collection and Guidelines for Use 

  • a. The Society will use the personal data collected in accordance with the purposes stated at the time of collection.  
  • b. Provision of personal data to the Society is entirely voluntary. However, if you fail to provide sufficient personal data, the Society may not be able to process your application effectively or provide the relevant services. 
  • c. The Society may use your personal data (including your name, telephone number, fax number, email address, mailing address, and affiliated organization/company/school) for future correspondence, application processing, receipt issuance, research/analysis/statistics, fundraising, collection of feedback/opinions, invitations to or promotion of activities/training courses, and matters related to projects of the Society. 


Confidentiality and Disclosure 

  • - The Society respects personal data privacy and pledges to strictly comply with all relevant provisions of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance when collecting, using, retaining, securing, disclosing, and transferring personal data. This ensures that personal data provided by any individual using this website remains confidential, is used solely for the specified purposes mentioned, and/or is used to transmit information from the Society. 
  • - Any personal data provided voluntarily by individuals using this website—including but not limited to name, job title, company, address, telephone number, and email address—will only be retained for as long as necessary. Such data will be used solely for the specific activities listed on this website and for sending information from the Society. The Society will not sell, transfer, or disclose your personal data to other organizations without your prior consent. 


Web Server Log and Analytics 

  • - When individuals browse this website, we record the number of visits. The web server also logs your visit data, which includes your IP address (and domain name), browser type and configurations, language settings, geographical location, operating system, previously visited websites, time/duration of visit, and pages visited (web server visitor log). 
  • - We use these web server visitor logs to maintain and improve website operations, such as determining the optimal screen resolution and identifying the most viewed webpages. This data is used solely for website enhancement and optimization purposes. 
  • - We do not, and have no intention to, use visitor log data to identify the personal identity of any individual.

When processing such inquiries and/or requests, the Society may require the individual to complete an application form and reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee depending on the circumstances.
